Today a pro-refugee group gathered in front of the White House in order to demand that additional screening and restrictions are not placed on refugees looking to enter the United States. News2Share’s Alejandro Alvarez takes you there.
A statement by the activists reads:
“Too many governors, including Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, are refusing all Syrian refugees from our states. Their political games are a crime against humanity.
With your help, we must welcome these refugees in a world that echoes rejection. With your help, we must not stay silent as our human brothers and sisters suffer. With your help, Governor Hogan’s decision will be resisted and reversed. This #Thanksgiving, let’s be grateful for the examples set by #Mizzou, #BlacklivesMatter, and countless efforts across our nation proving that when we unite and speak to power, justice is within reach!”
